Baromalli heartwood is a dull yellowish to pinkish brown, not sharply defined from the lighter colored sapwood. Dark colored resin streaks occur as arcs on the cross section and lines of the surface. The grain is straight and the texture coarse.

The heartwood is light to dark reddish brown, which is distinct but not sharply demarcated from the whitish or pale sapwood. Texture is fine and uniform with a low to medium luster. Grain is straight to occasionally slightly wavy or interlocked without a distinctive odor or smell.
